9/21/2023 0 Comments Dragon city piqua ohioThe records were without order or provenance as folders had been pulled from file cabinets and packed in boxes without listing or without a logical order. After the building was completed the records were taken to the City Street Department Storage Facility on South Main Street where they were randomly stacked and/or piled together. The collection is part of a large cache of materials placed in moving vans for storage in 1999 at the time of the construction of the current Municipal Government Complex. There are no known restrictions on the use of these records. The records are public records and as such access to the records conforms to the requirements and dictates of the laws of the State of Ohio. The control of the records has been transferred to the Piqua Public Library. The dates in the collection range from 1909 to 2000. There are also thirteen books in the collection. The collection is housed seven Hollinger boxes and forty-one Gaylord 15x12x10 boxes and one 13x10½x5 box. The rough sort of the documents was completed in 2005 and the formal processing and accession of the collection into the archives of the Piqua Public Library was completed in August of 2011. The City of Piqua Records Collection was delivered into the possession of the Flesh Public Library in 2002.
